In ELA they are working on using various reading strategies and working on their grammar and writing skills.
The children had a blast during Catholic Schools Week! They have been working hard to regroup as they subtract and solve multi-step word problems! Currently they are practicing reading strategies each week, developing their listening comprehension skills, building stamina as they read, and working on writing a complete paragraph. We are working on editing our writing to make it stronger. Make sure to check google classroom and class dojo often for updates!
This week the children are learning how to regroup when they subtract 2 digit numbers! Today they worked in groups to create a new snack containing a fruit or vegetable and wrote an ad to persuade others to buy it! They have also been working on strengthening their reading skills by searching text for answers to comprehension questions. They are very excited for Catholic Schools Week! It starts on Sunday, with mass at 11:30 AM, followed by an open house. Please come upstairs so your child can show off all his/her hard work! Make sure to check out the letter that went home as there are activities each day during Catholic Schools Week!
The children have been working hard to add 2 digit numbers! They even learned strategies to add four 2 digit numbers together. They have been working very hard. Tomorrow we will complete our practice test. Please review it for the test on Tuesday. Today in ELA we analyzed a passage about Martin Luther King and completed a project together. Make sure to read for 15 minutes every day!
